The adult male blackbird is mainly black except for a yellow eye-ring and bill. Where as the adult female blackbird and juvenile blackbirds have dark brown plumage.
The blackbird is a terrific singer, and will breed whenever the weather is right. On average, Blackbirds live to be 2.4 years old, but some have been found to be 20 years old.
This species breeds in woods, forests and gardens, building a neat, cup-shaped nest, bound together with mud. It is omnivorous, eating a wide range of insects, earthworms, berries, and fruits.
